Jon Uriarte is a London-based digital artist with over 15 years of experience in the film and TV industries. He holds a master's degree in Arts and Technologies of Image from Paris VII University. **1️⃣ Sora is most powerful when:** "It's about finding the right balance between being specific about the exact look you want—an area where it really excels—and allowing yourself to be surprised by what emerges from it." **2️⃣ The most exciting thing about what I created is:** "For this video, I started by working on shots of people flying in plastic chairs, a recurring theme in my work. I was amazed by the visuals Sora generated—the photographic quality and texture. It creates images that feel so organic with remarkable accuracy." **3️⃣ How Sora impacted the creative process:** "I was surprised by how smoothly the process of developing an idea flowed. I had a clear vision of certain 'frames,' but as I worked on them, it became easy to imagine new ones. For me, it's very similar to writing or daydreaming."
David Sheldrick is a British-Korean artist based in London, with a background in Fashion Photography from the London College of Fashion. His work combines a deep interest in image composition, nature, and technology. “Sora is most powerful when creating new worlds & new physics. Just how real it can be, especially when creating humans, was really a ‘we have arrived’ moment. I have used a lot of different AI tools but nothing has yet come close to the realism of Sora. I had to adapt my creative process somewhat, it took a few weeks to accept that I will have to reconsider the way I work to make sure I’m getting the best out of Sora, but once I went through that period of exploration and maybe friction at times, it opened up a totally new level of creative output. I started my career as a photographer, shooting backstage at fashion shows, being a fly on the wall capturing these tall glamorous creatures slinking through the different stations backstage. This video piece is a throwback to those beginnings in photography and those proving grounds that set my trajectory for the rest of my life.”
Singaporean artist Niceaunties utilizes AI in her art project that focuses on themes of aging, beauty, freedom, and fun, while exploring the concept of "auntie culture" in Southeast and East Asia. When she's not working on this project, she is an architectural designer. “Sora is at its most powerful when the interactive process feels almost like working alongside another human. The creations are incredible because of its ability to fill in details and craft uncanny visuals that blur the line between reality and illusion. It makes you question: What is real?! What excites me the most is the ‘human-ness’ of the characters, particularly their facial expressions and the emotions they convey. There is immense potential for these visuals to forge strong emotional connections, making it an incredibly powerful communication tool. I also learn from the way Sora interprets prompts—the more I engage with it, the more I learn. I love that I am constantly learning while creating! In this film Auntie bought some eggs from a mysterious vendor at the market, driven by food cravings intensified by the full moon’s energy. To her surprise, mini aunties hatched from the eggs, throwing big Auntie’s life into delightful chaos. Suddenly, with a squad of tiny assistants by her side, every aspect of Auntie’s life was meticulously taken care of. But one day, just as mysteriously as they had arrived, the mini aunties departed, and the egg stall vanished from the market.”
